Decade's BEST

Was responding to two categories in Forum hub’s Decades best thread

Movie of the Decade – Kaadhal & Paruthiveeran (Nominations) -Voted for PV.
Album of the Decade – Kannathil Muthamittal

It was a mere coincidence or a thought transference or a thanksgiving have gone straight into the voting head of “Rising Sun” to telecast both “Kaadhal” & “Paruthiveeran” in Sun & Kalaignar TV’s consecutively. I know PV is getting telecast but Kaadhal is a big surprise when I entered my house to catch that Marriage Scene the lady from the balcony turns her hubby “hey look at that” and exactly my wife did that from kitchen too. I have watched it before and I can very well recall all those dropped off scenes. Bharath’s(Muruga) friend who shares a Bachelors mansion in
triplicane aiding them for marriage is quiet perceivable but the whole gang enjoining is off-the-wall.

“pura koondu pola inga muppathu roomu andha muppathilum voovonnilum 3 peru maamu…”

So 30x3 = 90 ? Interesting song by JS look what all have they done by just a phone call picked them from marriage (street), arranged for the grand reception, stage, music(local thaara thappata), all dances (the couple), a rented house & a mechanic job for Bharath all in just a day... How do I say this? The shop owner ask Bharath to leave early as he has just got married. Sandhya, Bharath, his friend all are shown in the same costumes. His chittappu comes to know about Stanley’s shop find their house and rescues her Chittappu thanks the house owner lady. All in one day is bayangara reel vidurathu, Highly Impossible athuvum singara chennaila, illogical & undeniably cinematic. Oru pattula enna vena suthalmndradhu voliya mattengudhu….Cinema edukkuravanga cinematica than iruppainghannu sollalam. But the terrific narrative of a very natural and realistic movie have taken a slip. Balaji Sakthivel, the director whom I adore could have written much more fittingly specifically the sequence of getting married and caught….

Had my late lunch and glued for PV. Frankly speaking every every every thing is brilliant in this film, the choice of characters/face/voices, accent, costumes, location, sets, music, comedy, camera, editing those flashbacks scenes, history/geography/life saving treatment... Lots of perfect ground work have been done in narrating the script. Hardly a sore moment. The relation, bond between Saravanan and Karthi is fantastic and lively. Saravanan’s first and best performance he can act as well.. Priyamani was bothering unattendedly(like the advts in between) but later I realized why she always behaves like a aruvaal . She scoot the lorry drivers paruthi veeran pera kettavudane paanjitaaingha. What a mind blowing debut performance by Karthi dwelled it. Ameer cleverly brings back the gruesome “Veeran” to flashlight while he chops her in to pieces which everyone have almost forgotten. Gripping & a Remarkable movie. Splendid performance by everyone. Kudos to Ameer! Awaiting for his next release Yogi. Vote pottadhu correct dhaannu indha viewingla thelivaiduchi and there are 3 others who share my opinion. Thank you folks!

Next is Album of the Decade:
I flag for Kannathil Muthamittal and Its my deeming pleasure to clarify it. I have imposed 4 now 5 key factors how it could be the best of the decade.
1. Originality
2. Significance
3. Range and depth of the output
4. Durability
5. Lyrics
Folks do have problem with only two songs “Sundari” and “Senyore” & Chinmayee’s diction while the rest of the songs they believe are the best. I have applied those key factors and found both these songs are apt situational nos. and scores good in 1,2,3 & 5 while it lacks 4 for some cushy ears but the song has so much meaning. This is not a nursery rhyme nor the composer tried to perfume. It narrates the funny behavior of the little girl and their parents true love towards thier child – Amudha (adopted). Have to give a special mention to Kavipperarasar Vairamuthu for pouring his heart out for the whole album.

The song has a beautiful accordion opening and flute/guitar usage. The Accordian is woven in and out of the song. The “thuru thuruness” of the girl is maintained in the song. Ist Interlude is vivid observe how flute progresses and followed by clap sounds, kids chorus, variety of voices and the orchestral pieces (violin/cellos).
“Senyore” is based on Srilankan baila genre, singhalese lyrics written by BH Abdul Hameed. It’s a fun, cheerful song the guy tries to date a girl and the girl proposes him to meet his husband. It is aired on car’s radio while they were in Srilanka in search of her real mother. Fantastic!

To the other question Chinmayee was just 16 and a debutant to sing that song. Should be a tough task for anyone and she have come out really well both on diction and redition. The veteran singer KS Chitra herself called and appreciated her.

Well the question is not about how great are these song individually rather how lively/justifiable is these songs to the script. The greatness lies in the music for its universal appeal for the what the script demands
Parent’s Love,
Children’s Care,
Refugees Freedom &
World Peace.

Hats of to the trio Mani + ARR + VM!

Gleaming Ghazals

This is a classic Ghazal from Pakistani film Doraha(1967) and this particular song was composed by Ghazal Maestro Mehdi Hassan. The tune, structure sounds very familiar to me and upon repeated measured listening started singing ore naal... unnai naan.. incidentally. I thought it could be based on a similar raaga which I am a zippo for such comparisons. What caught my attention is that there are lots of allegation Shivaji's track "Sahana Saaral thoovudhu" to this could also be inspired and based on similar raaga. To my surprise the picturization of Shivaji's braggart version also has a striking similarity in terms of picturization, sets, serial lights, Piano, geometrical shapes of Glass frames, Grill designs, crystals, jewelleries luckybamboo, greeneries but Shreya, duet, chorus dance totally dismisses those similarities . ARR's piano interlude & alaaps. CHESS Board and Coins :)

I have checked Ore naal picturization also if you give a close look camera focus steadily on roof lights, grill designs, restaurant table, geometrical shapes like rectangle glass frames, circle nila/sun rays, triangular beach stands, tall posted lamps Atleast to me....

Fine, Irrespective of those similarities exist or not I am glad to find this awesome sountrack Doraha composed by Suhail Rana and get to know more about Ghazals - Mehdi Hassan & other counterparts. Check this song ...

This is their next film Armaan : Betaab Ho Udhar Tum

D: After Effects

Wiki Introduction: Pattie Smith is a Jewish billionaire of Uzbek origin. For her Diam ‘O’ the company is her lasting love and she have been successfully managing it since 20 yrs courageously comeforward to take over from her late husband Mr. Vad O Smith. Now the company Diam 'O'is owned by the members of Pattie family and has an extensive range of investments in US, Europe, Middle East and South East Asia. She was refferred as "hard woman" in business circle.
The story kickoffs with a lifetime affair for Mrs. Pattie Smith as the world wealthiest woman in the latest Corbes magazine. The ceremony limns her earnestness, hardwork and dedication in establishing the business and promoting it worldwide.. The brand has acquired a prolific status in the industry and the video clips on the gigantic projector demonstrates some of the involutions of diamond business from mining, factory works, logistics, technology, networks, shareholders and top management representatives...

The auditorium is jam packed among all those viewers Miss. Angie Krov is an aspiring young and beautiful model endowed with loads of talents have progressively grown into an accomplished celebrity. She has always admired Mrs. Pattie Smith and her diamond business tried and utilized every possible means to appeal her. Slowly Mrs Pattie also got enchanted for her abilities and signed her as a Diam 'O'brand's supermodel. Thats an auspicious overnight moment for her and she grappled it immediately. She learnt the nuances of business and become a very close and personal advisor to Mrs. Pattie. The brand was planning to introduce blue diamonds worth of $70 million to the market and have organized a big launch to all their potential customers. These type of special and rare diamonds have been treasured from the German kings. Angie is supposed to host this grand launch event and not just the global traders even the whole underworld gang is preying for it. The show started very well and Angelina was glittering in all those gems. Flashes.....

After 64 hours you will see Angie Krov in an Australian Cruiseship
making a call to say someone that everything is perfectly accomplished
and hope to meet him soon.....
The captain of Cruiseship was informed by
fellow ship personnels that they could see a signal directed towards them
probably a Naval security ship and its approaching them closely....

The Naval Commando troops introduced themselves and the Captain received them warmly and were to chaffer for a while. Suddenly they were shocked and the captain could only recognize to see on a bleeding note that this crook mouth sliced with red grimace was firing non-stop. And in moments he could capture the full control of the ship and thats

Jack Foxen - Prince of Crime.

Angie Krov and the passengers on the mid floor have absolutely no idea what's happening and they were extremely revelling the occassion with music, dancing and beverages. It was grandeur performance and She blew the crowd with an amazing rendition on Jazz solo.. Jack Foxen appears in the next show of the hall appears as a standup gagman. The Mask was weird & very funny. He doesnt claimed to be an insane, but everyone could spot on that he is just "ahead of the curves". Angie Krov is totally impressed and she found there is something very particular about this man.. While she was thinking Jack Foxen called out “I thought my jokes were bad.”

Thats it!! the same evening Foxen finds a place in Angie Krovs room and nothing more to explicate... She still remembers what he said "I don’t want to kill you" This planet deserves a better class of criminal, and I'm gonna give it to them. Go back! She recalls this fateful incident to someone whom she called before...Whose that?? and What connection does have with Angie Krov......that leads to the sequel

This is what I felt after watching Dev D and Delhi 6. I am really wondering why this classic tale was never made into big screen and how all you can exaggregate when you attempt for a contemporary remake depends on the budget and infrastructure available. Delhi-6 is MASTERSTROKE!!! I didnt like RDB but ROM have come with a very close socially oriented theme with perfect casting, meticulously crafted and the way he interlinked Ramayanam, religious fundamentalist is topnotch. Its a bundar SHAME! I have to say that the ending is bit slack but certainly not disoriented. Its a great movie for my liking and there are lot to be discovered scene by scene and Its warrants multiple viewings (which I hardly do) with subtitles. More than anything its damn ORIGINAL! OTOH, Dev D in one line is a simple remake of an old saga. Whoever attempted for such contemporary versions might have ended in a similar fashion sex, drugs, betrayal, school girl molested, father suicide, mother's neglectfulness that leads the girl to prostitution for living and education... Nothing extraordinary in terms of screenplay and execution.

And the coveted Oscar award goes to....

1. Mr. A R Rahman for Best Original Song Jai Ho "Slumdog Millionaire"

2. Mr. A R Rahman for Best Original Score Jai Ho "Slumdog Millionaire"

Congratulations MR. A R Rahman! clap clap. Congratulations for also winning GG & BAFTA. You certainly made all INDIANS particularly all tamilans proud! I really want to dedicate a very long appreciation post for all your extraordinary contribution to the Musical World but regret to inform you that I was totally distracted have to scrap the whole post "even your love over hate speech was twisted and bad-mouthed" and I am forced to believe that its impractical for any of your fans to embrace loveism over hate & all those school of thoughts. Please read the following article (better not I wish you remain the same lovable person ever for what others admire more than your music) This article is just a sample by a renowned writer completely discarded you and your entire discography as a "packaged marketing of catchy jingles" to and the demesne of bandwidth-bashing happening on the online world is highly disgustful and intolerable from what I know/followed all your works personally. But I tried to equate my actual intent in this post

"Jingle-Jangle Morning" by Sadanand Menon

Mr. Sadanand Menon, On behalf of all million/billion AR fans I would like to award you as a certified crackpot for the factual errors, copy-pasting wiki contents in your disdained article "Jingle-Jangle Morning" (btw, what does it mean?) published haphazardly by Outlook India. Wait! I am not insisting anyone on a throttled warning to waste an outlook id and spifflicate all of his other restricted pennings . He went on to extortionate ahead of all raja's extremist and decreed "Attack ..... bcoz Rahman got Oscars".

1. The story starts like this
Comparisons are odious. But in south India—and in Chennai at least you can’t duck the over 15-year-long debate on the comparative ‘genius’ of A.R. Rahman and his musical senior by twenty-three years, Ilaiyaraaja.
@#@#$&! IR made his debut in Annakili (1976) & ARR Roja in (1992) thats clearly copy-pasted. Its 16years you old diarist. Are you that poor in calculating the years itself. 23 years? on what count! 8 years scooped up.
2.For almost 10 years, Rahman continued to perform for Ilaiyaraaja, before Mani Ratnam handed him the baton for Roja (1992). And the rest, as they say, is history

Just curious! who is your history teacher or does "they" ever exist? From where did you embroil this piece of information and I would also like to know from which Rajas history book you find "he absorbed the barely 15-year-old Rahman as a keyboard player in his orchestra"
You mean to say that ARR was in IR's troupe for 10 left over year behind bushes. It was Rajiv Menon who referred ARR to MR thru his ad jingles and not by any of IR' compositions or by a group photo. MR handed the baton for Roja :rotfl:

Now the most odious comparison ever:

3.

Both have graduated from the Trinity College of Music- London, though Ilaiyaraaja bagged a gold medal there
Sourgrapes! Oru madham pudicha yaanaiya sothula maraikka mudiyumanna mudiyumnu nirubichirukkaangha. I will explain this story

Mr. Ramalinga Raju after establishing himself in the IT corporate world banged on to enroll CSC@gooduvaancheri branch vijayadasami scholarship offer for what just to affix a "GUI" certificate to his portfolio and its not RR actually an ardent devotee named rajaroll shamefully went on to publicize this monthly topper award in his website raajangam.com for open-ended years. Notably, others who have learned their craft and appeared for examination are renowned musicians like L Shankar, L Subramaniyam, etc… And another 1 in a 10000 student Mr. Harris Jeyaraj presented prestigious Trinity College of Music - LONDON 2007 awards MSV award - Ilayaraja award to all those students and teachers . Then you can imagine the authenicity of this Mountroad shop and how chicaned this honour was.

What certainly crimsoned Menon's mind or any other vavutherical parties are that there was also an another average/drop out student from the same branch egressed like a whiz kid, ramped up his own studio/platform, composed 200+ jingles reconstructed the movie songs & strategy and revolutionized the whole musical world with a debut album named Roja (1992). That was just a beginning.. What so awe-inspiring about this ne'er die phoenix is that he winged up to prove the whole macrocosm (person by person…territory by territory..)that he is the incontestable world-beater of global Music. Now you know what both IT & Hollywood global giants Apple, Warner Bros are queued up in front of his Panchatham Studio @ Chennai to get a nod from ARR. Chennai Cheers!

What do you call this Mr. Menon - qualification/cheap publicity/sheer talent, expertise or adeptness.

4. Where he makes a departure is in the polyphonic interludes. A typical example would be his amazing foot-tapper, ‘Rakkamma, Kaiyye Thattu...’ (Thalapathi, 1991), in which he moves with panache from a swiftly orchestrated popular folk tune to a serene, quiet solo classical with a deft, magical interlude of hummed bars.
evvalavu periya kandupudippu paarthiya. If someone who haven’t listened to any of ARR songs other than jingles nor bothered to check any of his album technicality/credit details or instead an online review what am I supposed to say! With the wide range of genres AR have composed every ARR song will shine out of such inane comparisons. rukkumani…thee thee, Kannalane, vande mataram till Rehna Tu.. Have you ever heard Bombay Theme - Is that also a "packaged marketing of catchy jingles"

In search of Masakali ....

Rustic Journey in the land of Kurdish Music

Updates of Originals:

www.sivanperwer.com

Sivan Perwer-Min Beriya Te Kiriye

Perhaps this could be the most originative version of Munbe Vaa Anbe Vaa. However good is AR's reworked duet the similarity cannot be precluded and the original is simply overwhelming. This may be also the reason why I like passionate solo.

Sivan Perwer - Voice of freedom @0.48
- Dil Gira Dafatan Guitar riffs.

Zelemele's ameyme is another manga theft of the series. The first thing which strikes me is Savana's orchestration usually all these kurdish songs have beautifully long preludes. Pallavi is ripped off and passed as Uyirile - VV. Infact GVP's Uyirile vellithirai also have a similar version with lots of variation but @ the end you can find where gopika goes vizhiyile at a slow tempo... Another reason original version doesnt have much varioations in the charana, So both HJ & GVP created their own which is totally out of harmony. Being familiar with HJ manga theft, I checked other songs surprisingly Munzur O "yaali yaali ye...yaali yaali ye " rap, charanam & ameyme pallavi matches the same. 3 songs of VV. Check the Original mix...

Zelemele - Munzur O - wwww.zelemele.com
Zelemele - Savana
Zelemele - Siware
Zelemele - Ameyme

///Offlate or from the birth, there are lots of Sufi influences in Indian/Tamil movie Songs. If you are bit familiarized with their rustic folk/now pop/rock blended versions you will come to know that lot of Our composers have a permanent tent in Kurdish land. ARR being the pioneer right from his Roja days (munbe vaa, newyork nagaram?, khwaja, masakali, aditi(pritam ) marginally all falls into this genre..) now passionately followed by other composers as well. Amit Trivedi another great talent(refer his recent interview about Delhi 6 songs he mentioned only 3 songs masakali, dil gira, rehna tu all are sufi based) Dev D & Aamir songs also have full-swing sufi influence not a real rustic Indian folk we may think the same with Masakali or Rehna Tu as rock based. For ex. Tauba meri jhalwa in Emotional atyachar, Chukkar Gumayo, payaaliya pallavi are quiet obvious influences of Sufi Music.I haven't listened much to other composers but HJ & GVP (check savana/uyirile(2) their own versions) also have a major share and I will try to upload some relevant parts soon. Now I see a totally different trend pick the original alter and present it as a Indian versions. tunekku panjame illai! My Fathers Journal!

While I was playing karka karka music & video back to back, I noticed some cartoon boxed flashes possibly a inspired opening theme/music/video of those manga series. They are countlesss in genre and baadhala surangam for different scripts and music.

Okay! Lets assume Innocent until proven guilty. But My google search helped me to solve those japanese mystery straight away. Have a look at it

My Fathers Journal by TANIGUCHI Jiro

This is a very quiet manga, in which a son attends his father's funeral and reflects on what his father means to him. Some of these reflections are childhood flashbacks, and they reveal different aspects of the father-son relationship. I found these flashbacks very moving, but I also found them interesting from a historical point of view -- it's like a glimpse into a Japan of a different generation.

Now I have to get the soundtrack. Thats very close indeed :)

KAAKHA(@) KAAKHA (@) copforceVsgangland BLEACH'd

It is a fantastic bl$dy remake. My blog pays valued credits and honors to the original makers!

If someone is stealing(shall I put "continuously") and passing it as his own "ORIGINAL" work for money and fame that’s cheap and disgraceful and it sure to be denuded. Such thieving swines will keep breeding until our ignorant populace gets well-informed and onnum projanam illadha (good for nothing) copyrights law gets stringent. I have come across lot of lifts/inspiration but look at the level of stealing these thieving swines have ripped off. I am watching the bleach series and I am damn Shellshocked. Plot, Theme, characters, appearance, mannerism including original soundtrack(5 so far) onnuma vittuvaikala (nothing unleft watch it for yourself). This is bl$$dy Outrageous theft of cartoon series BLEACH!! Soul Reapers logo as Indian National Emblem on Police badge and Shirt button. Policekkeva? Whats so annoying is Gautam Vasudeva Menon , the director himself appears as an ex-Encounter Specialist (watch it!) calling this as police officers real life story.. Now coming to music part, I never knew that a song/track can be created like this before Its like "how to create your own website in just 3 easy steps". No need to wander your soul you stupid that’s fully available on the Original Soundtrack for BGM as well just pick the template and add some transition effects.

//"Aamir" Hindi Movie debutant Director Rajkumar Gupta paid INR 8 lakhs to get one beautiful track Peggy Lee's Good Day and he does approached philiphina movie makers "Cavite" whether to continue or scrap it though he could prove the script was developed two years before Cavite released. Manusayyan ivan! Atleast he contacted the makers. Just imagine what would be the fate of Kalai puli, GVM & HJ for stealing Bleach 360 degree perimeter. GVM wouldn’t have imagined that Bleach will develop into this incredible level of stages cartoon, movie versions upto rock musicals and a ardent listener like me would spark a resemblance//

Now the funny part is Awards & Rewards. Forget tea & coffee awards this movie's music was awarded for TamilNadu State award (2003) because the title credits shows "Original Music & Background Score by Harris Jeyaraj". The movie was sledged for the award because lots infidelity to police/criminal laws because the original is such a classic work of art! An alternate strong contender "Autograph" grabs it for the same year. Does these *** jury ever care to check the genuinity of the script/music or to get an acknowledgement from the producers that its original. Neengale porukki award kudupeengala idhukku perthaan State award? Do they have any authority to revoke this award and sue them a ode to all others so that we might be able to see less but some good and "Original" movies/music.

Theft(1): Characters

Theft(2) : Cartoon Oru Vooril - Tonight

Now you will know How Surya is thrown out of the WALL not window? with those bullet shots

BLEACH, Unimaginable Bloodcurdling action scenes! The scale of liveliness in this action thriller is incredible which the stolen version spoiled in form of louuu scenes...

Next Costume Theft...hold yr breath!
